SMALL AND MEDIUM INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT FUND (SMIDF)

The Act No. 2 of 2018 establish Micro, Small and Medium Industry Development Fund (SMIDF)  under section 24(1). The Fund support the development of the Micro, Small and Medium industries.

Among the support applied for the Fund include;(i) research towards promotion and development of Micro, Small and Medium industries, (ii) provision of loans of grants to any organization which, in the opinion of the Board, exists to promote the establishement or developmnet of processing and manufacturing activities (iii) provision of technical services through mechanical and electrical workshop or tooll rooms run by the Agency; (iv) facilitation of Micro,Small and Medium Industries to access relevant equipment either trough purchasing or leasing or franchising.
